The dancers’ curriculum at the PNSD Rosella Hightower aligns the connection between initial training and higher education with an equal focus on excellence, aiming for professionalisation.
Our wide artistic spectrum relies on the complementarity of both classical and contemporary techniques to train versatile dancers capable of adapting to the modern-day choreographic world.
Our main objective is professional insertion with a strong emphasis on international openness. In order to achieve such an objective, the PNSD Rosella Higtower has developed close and continuous links with the professional world regionally, nationally and internationally.
The PNSD Rosella Hightower places great importance on the health of young dancers, integrating health considerations into its curriculum and infrastructure.
The Dance Study Programme enables students to combine regular academic studies alongside a comprehensive artistic training from year 7 to year 13. This combined curriculum resumes through students’ senior year – also the first year in the higher education cycle leading to DNSP undergraduate studies.
Academic program: international students
In France, a student’s enrollment in a given grade level depends on their ability to follow the curriculum, particularly in the French language.
As part of the partnership established with our partner school, and given the specific situation of some allophone students, a special arrangement has been put in place for integration into "exam-level" classes. The procedure is designed to address educational needs while encouraging a progressive and effective integration.
Therefore, starting from the beginning of the school year, your child will be provisionally enrolled in a lower-level class, while still attending lessons corresponding to their age-appropriate level.
At the end of an observation period, and after completing a complementary French language course alongside the academic curriculum, a French proficiency test will be held to assess their language skills. Based on the results of this evaluation, your child may either:
• Be officially and administratively transferred to the class corresponding to their originally intended grade level,
OR
• Remain officially enrolled in the lower-level class while continuing to attend lessons in the their age-appropriate level. The following year, the student will repeat this class and will officially validate the syllabus and sit the end-of-year exams.
Please refer to the table below for further explanation, on how the procedure breaks down.
